Pinhole Surgical Technique

What is PST™?

The Pinhole Surgical Technique is a minimally invasive procedure Dr. Abdeen uses specialized instruments to advance the gums to the desired position and secure it at the new position by adding collagen to the gum tissue. This new technique is straight forward, suture-free and minimally invasive.

PST™ was developed and patented by John Chao, D.D.S. It has been featured in the International Journal of Periodontics, one of the most prestigious dentistry journals in the world.

Why Do We Get Gum Recession?

There are a lot of factors that can cause gum recession such as insufficient tooth brushing, overly aggressive tooth brushing, inflammation, position of the tooth, muscle attachment, orthodontic treatments, appliances like braces or retainers, and genetics.

Why choose PST™?

Unlike traditional tissue graft, The Pinhole Surgery Technique™ is minimally invasive and less painful option. Gum recession can be treated using soft tissue grafts, which may include harvesting the tissue from the roof of the mouth and then placing sutures at the donor site. Alternative option for harvesting the tissue graft from the roof of the mouth is using donor tissue. Compared to the traditional tissue recession treatment options, PST™ is less painful and has a higher patient satisfaction.
